Summary / Description

We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Engineer interested in joining our team in Chantilly, VA, and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

Performs technical planning and SE&I (e.g., CONOPS, Requirements, Interfaces, IV&V, implementation plan/schedule/technical performance/risk and supportability and mission effectiveness analyses) for NSG ground enterprise mission capabilities leveraging Mission Partner systems and GEOINT source data, with particular focus on Cloud adoption. Performs analysis at all levels of total system product throughout System Lifecycle. Ensures systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Candidate should be aware of technical IT, Cloud initiatives within the IC, and the TCPED (Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination) mission and systems/services.

 

Specific responsibilities and typical tasks could include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the Cloud SME, providing technical leadership for enterprise IT adoption of community cloud infrastructure within a Joint architecture to integrate a new source into the TCPED lifecycle
  • Identify, manage, and resolve specific technical requirement issues affecting the infrastructure; perform Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs); develop roadmaps; and conduct engineering assessments related to Segment, Agency, and Mission Partner adoption of cloud architecture
  • Conduct studies; participate in milestone Readiness Reviews and Major Systems Acquisition (MSA) control gates; perform hardware, software, and technology evaluations; identify solutions; provide recommendations; and plan activities
  • Implement replacement of stovepipe TCPED systems with an open NSG ground enterprise, system of systems service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Apply innovative mission capability/process/implementation re-engineering for integrating a new source into the TPED life-cycle.
  • Participate in the end-to-end joint RFC process to develop/derive/decompose/allocate functional & interface requirements which impact NGA/Mission Partner, assessing infrastructure impacts 
  • Plan/lead Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), to include technical presentation prep/delivery 
  • Ensure Project Mission Capability objectives are achieved, providing requisite capabilities and services to meet mission and GEOINT (GI) community user needs
  • Manage continuous customer/stakeholder engagement business rhythms/communications

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline, and minimum 10 years of experience in directly related field or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of SE experience, preferably with NTM and Motion Imagery
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, GovCloud, and C2s
  • Experience with emerging cloud environment and technologies
  • Experience with systems architectures (hardware, software, networking, and databases)
  • Knowledge of IC or DoD organizations and programs
  • Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, driving data driven decisions
  • Demonstrated ability/experience identifying/solving problems reviewing related info to develop/evaluate options and implement solutions with minimal supervision / direction
  • Strong customer service teaming skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional team
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Science, Information Systems, Math, or related scientific or technical discipline
  • SE&I (INCOSE), IT (ITIL), Agile (SAFe), LSS certs
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the NGA organization, leadership, programs, systems
  • Knowledge & experience with NTM capabilities, NGA/IC/DoD architectures/missions, NGA and/or Mission Partners sensors/systems (esp. RTM/GIMS/RMS, IDS-D & library systems)
  • Technical project engineering leadership expertise & experience, working across boundaries
  • Working knowledge of NGA acquisition/baseline configuration/ change management processes
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing initiatives [e.g., interoperability platform patterns & tenets {virtualization (HW and SW)}, interface abstraction, open standards, frameworks (NIST)]
  • NGA, IC/DoD IT knowledge [e.g., ICITE, cloud architectures/missions, as-is/future vision]
  • A/B ISR TCPED SLC (e.g., FMV, MAWS, WAPS/WAS, MTI, ABI, SOM, exploitation) exp.
