Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Adminitrator to join our team in Eagan, MN, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

Active DoD Secret Clearance Required !

 

Under general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. Supports media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.

 

In this role you will:

  • Analyze, diagnose, and correct problems related to hardware assets
  • Perform all patching, scanning, and imaging in accordance with standard Change Management and Government processes
  • Inventory 100% of all government furnished equipment
  • Communicate errors to leadership in a timely and concise manner 
  • Partner with other System Admins, to include government administration to resolve complex technical issues 
  • Administer Remote Desktop Tools
  • Support all new hires with system configuration and desk preparation
  • Participate in weekly status call meetings

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Must be US Citizen
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • 5 + years of hands on experience supporting desktops, laptops, servers, and network configuration or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Experience with ACAS, SCCM, HBSS, and Active Directory
  • Experience with Bomgar a plus 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn customer support processes and techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Competency in MS Office Suite

Education / Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • DoD 8570 Certification - Security + or higher IAT Level
  • Certification in Windows 7 or Windows Configuration
