Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior Architect to join our team in The Washington, DC metro area to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

In this role you will work within and across practices and organizations to design leading-edge technology or application solutions that result in profitable revenue growth for Unisys. Conceptualize, architect, designs implement and support integrated solutions for client engagements. Recognized in the industry as a notable expert in a specific technology, application or solution platform and uses this knowledge to generate profitable revenue growth for Unisys. Interface with the client’s highest technical executives (e.g., at the CXO level). Design and integrate the most complex, leading-edge, and business critical solutions for major, enterprise-wide companies. Lead the technology or application solution for multiple projects. Serves as the technology mentor for major organizations across the company. Find, qualify and develop service opportunities. Negotiate the most optimal rate for the services provided. Work to ensure that a steady stream of follow-on services are made available to complement the original services offering. Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Unisys third party companies and with other Unisys business units. Use these relationships to the best advantage of Unisys in client engagements. Present technology or application based papers to major conferences and publishes papers in professional journals and publications. Promote Unisys and one’s own capabilities by networking with peers in other companies and actively supporting professional organizations and user groups.

 

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

Extensive experience in design and development of IT architecture. Experience must include a wide range of work in creating diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology. Strong software background in .NET a must.

Ability to understand and analyze data models – how the data is stored in relational databases

Design and development of complex large scale Data Integration, Portal Services, and API Management, Reporting services support OLTP system in MS SQL Server and Oracle environment

Manage a small team of Software Developer, Testers, Admins, and data engineers responsible for configuring a Unisys GOTS solution to support performing various data integration, workflow and on-going database design and development

Create, obtain, scrub, explore, model and interpret data currently stored in propertairy 3rd party software package to an integrated cloud solution for customer.

Ability to understand system integration aspects of integrating model input and output in transactional systems to help real time decision making

Good understanding software application architecture, specifically in .NET, and develop integration approaches for predictive models

Individual should have experience in running Agile teams in DevSecOps environment. Perferably Open Source based solution, optionally have experience in both MTFS and Open Source based DevSecOps environments.

Solid Understanding of security architectures in Federal Agency Environments.

This person has support large scale data integration efforts - EDI or otherwise. Understands queuing concepts, workflow, web services, business rule management, data validation, etc.

This person has also supported Front-end Software development in portal related technologies. Understands

Individual has understanding of AWS.

This individual has experience support reporting services in .NET and Oracle based data architectures.

Optional - This individual should have experience support VA Architectures and Security environments.

 

Requirements

Position Requirements:

U.S. CITIZENSHIP or Green Card Holder REQUIRED

Must be able to obtain a VA Public Trust clearance

Master’s degree and 15 years of experience or equivalent.

Must have demonstrated skills and abilities showing candidates ability to interface with client upper management staff, stake holders, as well as, development teams and project managers.

Strong SQL programming skills

Experience in database/SQL performance tuning of large – multi-terabytes OLTP database

Hands-on experience creating and maintaining conceptual, logical and physical data models, preferably using ERwin 7.3 or later.

Hands-on experience developing fully normalized (3NF) data models as well as dimensional data models.

Experience in performing data quality analysis and profiling tasks, including: Source/target assessments, Data model integrity, Redundancy checks, Ranges and outliers Sparsity/density metrics.

Candidate must be familiar modeling data structures to accommodate large scale (multi-terabytes) OLTP database systems

Knowledge working with Unix and Linux Red Hat

Candidate should be knowledgeable with a variety of methodologies for data exchange and integration such as IBM MQ, Direct Data Transfer, XML, etc.

Strong organization and time management skills – prior experience in leading a small team is preferred

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to support and assist the development and testing team in the design and implementation of database applications

Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Ability to work effectively in a high energy and a very rapid dynamic environment

Prior experience in working with Customs or ICE travel related data a plus

Experience with statistics, modeling and machine learning techniques specifically information retrieval and Entity Resolution -  a plus
