We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Biometrics Software Developer to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. 


Seeking experienced software developer to support biometrics collection project for a federal law enforcement agency.  Candidate will integrate fingerprint scanners, cameras and a variety of biometric collection devices into new and existing software products.  Will be expected to maintain and improve existing software products and develop new software to meet ever changing requirements.  Will be expected to interface with biometrics development teams across the agency to adopt best practices by utilizing common agency biometric APIs.



Required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 10 years of experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Knowledge to support existing software products including web based applications, web servers and SQL Relational database environments.
  • Strong C++ and C# programming skills.  Experience working with .NET framework.  Experience with Java would be beneficial.
  • Experience integrating biometric collection devices with web application or standalone software applications.
  • Ability to pan and perform high-level engineering analysis, evaluation, design, documentation, and implementation of complex solutions that require thorough knowledge biometric collection concepts.
  • Experience working on web application projects and knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, AngularJs, RESTful services and SOAP services.
  • Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Familiar with name matching, biometric matching, role matching and fuzzy logic.
  • Familiar with Intelligence Analysis-Counterterrorism-Network Analysis, Entity Resolution, Threat Research Support, Visualization and Query Support.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project staff and customers to solve complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong listening skills.
