Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Network Design Engineer to join our team at Edwards AFB, CA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

In this role you will provide the maintenance, integration, configuration and implementation of enterprise network devices, servers and computer systems for a flight test organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work as Information Technology professional with knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.
  • Provide System Administration  functions such as user account maintenance, application and OS patches and updates, antivirus updates, security/event log review and analysis, network documentation, backup operations, monitor and restore
  • Install, configure, audit, manage, troubleshoot servers and other hardware systems and associated software as necessary.  Apply networking and security knowledge to assist in buildup of the network(s).  Proficient support MS Windows Server (2008 and newer). Support Microsoft applications and workstation clients, database applications, and other such user applications installed on the network and computer systems.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in network security procedures, compliance requirements, regulations and protocols governing information management techniques and methodologies and documentation, best practices, and implementation.
  • Support Microsoft applications and workstation clients, database applications, and other such user applications installed on the network and/or stand-alone computer systems.
  • Must be knowledgeable in PC, server and peripheral hardware sys. Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable in security procedures, best practices, and implementation.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.

**Position is in high visibility area with little direct supervision.  Requires mature, self-starting individual with excellent communication, organizational skills, tact, diplomacy, and who is also detail oriented.  Candidate must possess good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within structured guidelines.  Some lifting of up to 50 lbs. will be required.  Must have the ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. as necessary to create reports for customers and task lead.  Top Secret clearance required.  Security+ certification or ability to certify quickly.**

Position Requirements:

  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 8 years of experience specific to system administration and computer network management. Directly related experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Ability to be cleared at the Top Secret level
