Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Data Warehousing Specialist to join our team in Springfield, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.



  • Coordinates the data administration technical function for both data warehouse development and maintenance.
  • Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers.
  • Establishes and enforces processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated data warehouse infrastructure.(d) Analyzes and identifies data and metadata requirements.
  • Defines user requirements and database design specifications.
  • Designs, implements, and supports data warehousing requirements. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies.
  • Provides product support and maintenance of the data warehouse.
  • Performs data warehouse design and construction.
  • Prepares/implements data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse.
  • Mentor and team leader.
  • Give direction to project teams.
  • Define process strategy and/or methodology.
  • Communicate on a broader scale than a lead engineer both within department and other development organizations and outside of Unisys (vendors and partners).
  • Program and system expert. Technical expert with strengths in multiple strategic areas. Involved in determining technical direction, strategy, testing and support methodologies. Drive innovation across the solution lifecycle.
  • Estimate, plan and manage multiple concurrent tasks and/or performs project planning. Compile actual efforts into status reports. Gather and report metrics. Ensure that the team meets all deadlines and commitments
  • Consult on technical requirements and proposed/planned solutions.
  • Consult on technical feasibility studies.
  • Define/architect systems, solutions, configurations or testing strategies.
  • Consult, coordinate and oversee complex feature development/testing by team members.
  • Consult on test strategies.
  • Consult and oversee test development. Recommend solutions to problems encountered during testing.
  • Consult on difficult system problems. Consultant for multiple products or solutions. Recommend solutions to problems.
  • Fix defects in any product area.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex problems, including system tuning to address performance problems.
  • Consult with team members on complex defect resolutions.
  • Lead analysis effort of external customer reported User Communication Forms (UCF’s) to identify problem escape areas.
  • Provide system level technical support to clients via travel or remote support.
  • Lead efforts of virtual teams. Understand regional cultural considerations and forms tight working relationships.
  • Learn new technologies and continue to expand expertise.



  • Master's Degree and mininimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • May supervise others.
