Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Data Warehousing Specialist to join our team in Springfield, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the data administration technical function for both data warehouse development and maintenance.
  • Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers.
  • Establishes and enforces processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated data warehouse infrastructure.
  • Analyzes and identifies data and metadata requirements.
  • Defines user requirements and database design specifications.
  • Designs, implements, and supports data warehousing requirements. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies.
  • Provides product support and maintenance of the data warehouse.
  • Performs data warehouse design and construction.
  • Prepares/implements data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse.Applies extensive expertise and knowledge paying attention to detail, developing, and delivering quality solutions, recommendations and services that are based on the client’s expectations.
  • Ensures schedules are processed in a timely manner, meeting customer service level agreements in a 7x24 support environment. Analyze and evaluate major system project requirements of considerable complexity requiring thorough understanding of all parameter affecting and interfacing with the system. Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into final product. 
  • Provide mentoring, training and professional development opportunities to helpIndividuals reach their full potential.
  • Provide a demonstrated ability to analyze internal or external customer’s needs, and determine requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems; helping in the development of customized solutions to customer and user problems.
  • Develops solutions to complex problems requiring the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practical, and consistent with organizational objectives. Reviews alternate approches and selects appropriate methodology.
  • Serves and represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • May provide work leadership to lower level employees.
  • Participate in the training of other control analysts as direct back-up for assigned responsibilities to ensure the continuity of client support.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of Job Control Language; i.e., ECL, JCL, WFL and Unix scripting, to ensure accuracy and provide an error free processing environment. 
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining batch schedules in conjunction with assigned customers for coordination and set up of all applications.
  • Respond to customer special and new processing requirements by using an automated scheduling software package. Effectively track, manage, communicate and resolve all output problems as required. Work effectively with others in the organization to accomplish goals and identify and resolve problems.
  • Continue to build productive working relationship with customers proposing quality solutions that are in the customer’s best interest.
  • Appraise and evaluate application operating and processing procedures for content, effectiveness, simplicity, and error free operation.
  • Support the Veritas NetBackup infrastructure by investigating and resolving backup errors on both Windows and Unix servers.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and mininimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
  • CBP-BI clearable
