We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Storage Administrator to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

This is Storage as a Service (Saas) in a cutting edge cloud environment managing multiple petabytes of data. Our unique virtualized storage offering is a more cost effective and performance optimizing solution for our customers and you can be a part of that team.


Description:
The Storage Administrator will work on-site in a managed Storage-as-a-Service environment for a large Government client and will be responsible for the management of the client’s enterprise storage infrastructure. Specific duties include:

 

  • Manage enterprise storage infrastructure in support of client’s mainframe and open systems computing.
  • Interact with client’s ticketing system to guide workflow.
  • Provision storage per Storage-as-a-Service requirements.
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues.
  • Investigate and resolve storage performance issues.
  • Escalate and track issues submitted to storage vendors.
  • Document new technical procedures and processes developed in coordination with Storage-as-a-Service business goals.
  • Identify new process and procedure improvements.
  • Work with storage vendors to conduct routine maintenance on storage arrays.

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain Government agency BI security clearance with drug screening.
  • Master's Degree plus 10 years applicable experience; Bachelor's degree plus 12 years experience; or high school plus 16 years experience and experience with enterprise storage from one or more of the following:
    • SVC
    • EMC
    • HDS
    • IBM

SVC is desired with experience in some of the following technologies:

  • EMC
  • HDS
  • IBM
  • Hitachi
  • NetApp
  • HP
  • OnCommand

Desireable:

  • Experience with multi Petabyte environments and understand the best practices for SVC.
  • Needs to demonstrate a deep knowlege of SVC and Storage technologies. 
  • Experience with migrating large environments behind the SVC.
  • Ability to work with in a team environment and participate in Knowledge transfer with teammates and customer.
  • Ability to Document the SVC environment.
  • Keep up to date with the latest SVC codes and recommend fixes/code upgrades for the production environment. Come up with test plans to test in the Lab and validate all recommended code levels.
  • Experience with EMC VMAX, DMX, CLARiiON, Centera, and Celerra storage devices (Mandatory)
  • Experience with EMC SRDF/TimeFinder, Navisphere (Mandatory)
  • For IBM Storage Admins
  • Experience with IBM DS8800/8700, and SVC (Mandatory)
  • Experience with IBM Flashcopy, Metro Mirror, Global Mirror (Mandatory)
  • Experience with Hitachi VSP/USP, AMS (Mandatory)
  • Experience with Hitachi True copy, Universal manager (Mandatory)
  • For NetApp Storage Admins
  • Experience with NetApp V-Series (mandatory)
  • Experience with NetApp OnTap and OnCommand
  • Preferable experience with HP EVA, IBM DS8800/DS8700, Hitachi VSP/USP, Netapp
  • Experience with Brocade SAN Fabric switches
  • OS Administration: VMware, Solaris, Linux, Windows, AIX, and HP-UX
  • NetApp OnCommend management software
  • Experience with multiple operating system environments
  • Storage vendor certifications
  • Proficiency with operating systems

 

Other requirements include solid writing, excellent verbal and communication skills, managing time effectively and according to priorities.
