Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Arlington, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. 

 

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the transition of all mission critical Disaster Recovery (DR)/Continuity of Operations (COOP) data residing in our customers facility to a Hybrid Cloud Solution that will move a portion of the Corporation’s data to Amazon Web Service (AWS) Cloud and a Unisys Data Center. The Database Administrator will report into the programs Transition Manager who will be leading the migration of systems and data to the Hybrid Cloud Solution. This will also require working closely with the operations team to install and configure both Oracle and MS SQL Databases and perform extracts and loads of the mission critical data. This will also require participation in testing to make sure systems and applications are working in the Hybrid DR/COOP as it does in production. In addition, the DBA will be responsible for installs new software releases
and system upgrades, and evaluates and installs patches. Assure that database configurations comply with the corporations security configuration requirements.

 

This position will oversee one staff member and is responsible to develop, implement, administer, and maintain procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of databases supporting all mission critical applications in the DR/COOP. Will also be responsible for implementing data models, database designs, database tuning, as required by our customer.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree and 12 years relevant experience or equivalent

• Technical experience: Minimum of 10 years
• At least 5-7 years of Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration
• At least 3-5 years of application administration - Enterprise and Business applications
• At least 2 years of Business applications security administrator.
• At least 2 years of leading and managing teams and/or projects
• Experience writing SQL queries, generating reports and writing scripts to automate
processes.
• Experience handling annual IT security audits and managing or leading a technical team of
IT auditors preferred.
Experience in creating and deploying Physical Data Models
• Experience administrating systems and servers – OS – Windows, Linux, Scripting, Batch
Jobs etc.
• Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
• PMP, ITIL v3 or advanced ITIL Certifications.
• Worked as a DBA in Both Oracle and MS SQL Database Disciplines
