We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Deployment Manager to join our team in Sterling, VA, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the deploypment of specific product(s) or product line(s) , services and solutions portfolios. Responsible for supporting new solutions and assisting in the solutions processes. Provides support in the development of new business plans, managing lifecycles, and product positioning. Identifies customer needs. Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products of enhance existing product(s) or product line(s) , services and solutions portfolios. Acts as a technical advisor for specific product(s) assigned. Activities may include technical sales support, planning, developing and implementing multiple projects for specific product(s) or product lines(s).
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities
The ITI (Integrated Traveler Initiative) RFID and LPR Implementation is a CBP project to implement License Plate Reader (LPR) and Radio Frequency ID (RFID) technology at all land border ports across the Canadian and Mexican borders of the United States for both inbound and outbound lanes. Unisys also provides the ITI project with Pedestrian, Border Patrol, Airport Entry, and various pilot solutions. Unisys is the prime contractor and is responsible for developing the software and hardware integration solution for use with CBP systems to provide better and faster information to the officers at the border. Unisys manages the site surveys, contractor bid walks, construction, and installation of the various technologies that are deployed to the ports of entry under the ITI program. The Regional Deployment Manager is the Unisys representative in the field that insures the implementation of all of these solutions is done to design in a highly professional manner.
The Regional Deployment Manager (RDM) reports to the Lead Deployment Manager. The RDM attends the site survey, bid walk, oversees construction and installation and insures all deliverable materials for the project at each site are completed. Regional Deployment Managers work closely with the local CBP and GSA points of contact to properly execute the design and insure our customer, CBP is safely and thoroughly supported during the technology implementation. While on site they directly manage electrical and equipment installation subcontractors to properly execute the design and insure proper operation. The RDM also supports the Unisys Operations and Maintenance team’s activities to assist with troubleshooting and overseeing problems at deployed solutions. RDMs also participate in regular reporting, project documentation, project solutions, and assist in the project where expertise or manpower is needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Project Manager: Manages programs/projects of relatively low risk and complexity, or a portion of a larger program/project. Plans, directs, and monitors program/project budget and serves as primary customer contact for program/project information. Total value of programs/projects is generally between $5 million and $10 million (life of contracts). May be responsible for programs/projects of a lesser dollar value if they are more complex or developmental in nature.
Field level implementation experience in technology environments that require understanding and expertise in the implementation of hardware, software and middleware
Experience in IT infrastructure operational environments that require creativity and flexibility to resolve
Leadership and project management experience to be successful in the dynamic and multiple stakeholder CBP port of entry environment.
