We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Biometrics Business Systems Analyst to join our team and begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.


In this role you will support the implementation and deployment of a Biometrics Systems throughout Mexico on behalf of the U.S. Department of State (DoS).   The business systems analyst provides the functional requirements, defect resolution, and overall usability of the system that integrates the combined requirements of the DoS and Government of Mexico (GOM) stakeholders.  The analyst analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems. Coordinates with business and technology teams ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of users acceptance and may coordinate testing, and system techniques and controls. Requires knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow.


Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Considered an expert in the field within the organization.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans and objectives.



Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems/ Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field and 8 years or relevant experience or equivalent
  • Fluent in Spanish (Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Foreign Service Institute Level 3 Spanish Linguistic capability or equivalent)
  • Experience with developing and managing data models with data modeling tools.
  • Experience creating and updating data dictionaries
  • Experience with requirements tools and tracking (e.g. JIRA)
  • Experience facilitating Joint Application Development (JAD) requirements workshops
  • Experience developing user stories, including facilitation, prioritization, and negotiation with business sponsors, stakeholders, project sponsors, product owners, and development teams
  • Experience creating and maintaining requirements documentation, including business process flows, functional specifications, use cases, test plans, and supplementary specifications
  • Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including successful outcomes of achieving completed user stories and associated test criteria
  • Technical proficiency with SQL including the ability to create queries to validate data integrity and other data constraints
  • Experience with all aspects of configuration management planning including configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, configuration documentation
  • Ability to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification
  • Home based position with frequent visits to Arlington, VA office and Mexico City required
