We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented PM / Software Development Manager to lead one of our teams in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Should be experienced working with software development teams to manage operations and modernization to include project planning, cloud migration and project implementation in an Agile environment. Key skill sets include the ability to lead software projects; experience coordinating activities across multiple organizations and government stakeholders, experience managing distributed team resources, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, familiarity/experience with leading Agile projects, and a demonstrated servant leader style/approach. Project manager must understand implementations and protections of PII, code modernization and transformation and be able to develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and technical problem solving with developers, clients and other stakeholders.

 

You will be empowered to help guide an experienced team of software developers build shippable product and be responsible for leading Agile best practices using Scrum. You will also be responsible to ensure Scrum is understood and enacted, work with team(s) to solve problems and to proactively drive continuous improvement and business owner satisfaction.

 

  • Work with the team to develop project plans, roadmaps and manage backlog. Communicate team plans, report impediments for escalation, identify risks to relevant stakeholders to help resolve
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) technical security requirements
  • Monitor team backlog daily and ensure it accurately reflects the current state of the sprint
  • Serve as product owner delegate and work with stakeholders to refine vision, product backlog and establish goals and metrics
  • Facilitate efforts to implement Continuous Integration and Agile practices
  • Track and communicate team sprint progress to all affected teams and management
  • Coordinate between PO, Scrum, and Architecture Teams and balance competing resources
  • Assist government PM and Unisys technical lead to manage project resources and personnel

 

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of Software Project Management experience.
  • Agile Certification (Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Certified Agile Practitioner)  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and servant leader style/approach)
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Cloud Based Infrastructure
  • Advanced data analytics, geospatial visualization
