We are looking for a Maximo Developer/Reports Developer/Subject Matter Expert to join the Unisys Federal Systems team in Falls Church, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
Unisys was awarded and recently started work on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and border Protection (CPB), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Border Enforcement Management Systems Division (BEMSD) program, a 5-year contract to develop and maintain a wide variety of software-based solutions for CBP. BEMSD is a technically and functionally diverse organization that encompasses 5 branches, each providing development, maintenance, and modernization of mission critical solutions and services within CBP. They include the Mission Support Branch, providing financial, time and attendance, and accounting solutions and services, the Web Communications and Research Branch, providing SharePoint and CBP.gov solutions and services, the Border Enforcement and Investigations Branch, providing tactical custom developed software solutions to the Border Patrol Agents in the field, the Technical Integration Office, providing architecture, security, testing, and configuration management solutions and services, and the Program Control Office, providing financial, contract management, and administrative services for BEMSD.
BEMSD works with a wide variety of technologies and requires professionals with skillsets such as JAVA, .Net, Business Analysts, Automated testers, DBAs, Solution Architects, Security Officers, SharePoint, Tririga, Remedy, SAP, Technical Writing, Agile, System Administration, and much more. BEMSD is an exciting organization that focuses on delivering solutions to Customs Officers and Border Patrol Agents in the field securing charged with the mission to secure our nation’s borders. It is an innovative organization delivering mobile solutions to CBP Officers, Border Patrol Agents, and the public while adopting state-of-the-art Agile software practices. Support the sustainment and enhancement of the IBM Maximo application at Customs and Border Protection. Assist in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the software. Perform tasks in accordance with the change control and compliance procedures associated with CBP software development, including all required configuration management documentation. Assist in the troubleshooting of Maximo system problems, the determination of the root cause, and the creation of a mitigation strategy. Demonstrate/train application modifications and communicate technical solutions to appropriate audiences. Participate in working sessions with client teams to understand asset management requirements and to help design a solution that meets their needs. Participate in and contribute to the creation of Maximo items and assets. Support the development of Maximo Job Plans, Start Centers, and reports. Participate in the development of key project deliverables such as design documents, test documentation, training materials, and administration/procedural guides. Contribute to change aspects and lessons learned. Assist in the development of Maximo system enhancements such as presentation changes, database changes, workflow changes, and configuration changes. Design and implement BIRT reports. Support the integration of Maximo with other applications and custom interfaces. Provide production support and help to resolve user issues with system performance, availability, and functionality, potentially outside of regular business hours. Provide system and user administration support as needed. Document changes implemented and report status of assigned tasks on a regular basis. Work cooperatively in a team environment. Work independently and manage personal time to meet deadlines. Build and maintain professional, respectful, and positive working relationships with other support and user groups. Participate in Agile development practices.
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal/presentation skills are required to interact with team members, other CBP and government resources, stakeholders, and end users.
The ability to undertake occasional domestic and local travel for customer meetings, requirements gathering, user training, and rollouts is preferred.
