    We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented DevOps Platform Engineer to join our team in Reston, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.


    Overall responsibilities include the following:

    • Application Development – both development and leading development teams
    • Agile/DevOps (Scrum master, etc.)
    • Oversight and management of Unisys Technical Challenges, Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), Client Demonstrations/Demoware, and Orals associated with federal opportunities
    • Serve as project lead or lead technical staff in course of application development project
    • Build and manage delivery teams (including remote resources) in support of Unisys Federal Systems opportunities.
    • Agile Team Lead
    • Hands-on full stack engineering development on projects, coaching and helping delivery teams to adapt this as part of their development life cycle.
    • Understanding of the DevOps tooling landscape and has experience integrating various DevOps tools together to provide end to end application lifecycle management.
    • Maintain close communications with the sales, business development, executive/solution architects, and client executives to understand and manage the pipeline of tech challenges and other demos being requested in support of opportunities. 
    • Collaborate and coordinate with Federal Capability Leads
    • Coordination and Project Management of offshore resources
    • Proposal support including response, written, orals, plans, artifacts



    • Master's degree and 15 years relevant experience or equivalent blend of education and experience required.
    • Strong writing skills and technical background necessary with prior experience supporting winning proposal efforts. 
    • Application Development Agile background. Expert in software development lifecycle, systems integration, data management, and full lifecycle development. 
    • Minimum of 12 years of technical professional experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of AWS experience
    • Minimum 18 months experience with either Cloud Foundry OR 18 months experience with RedHat Open Shift
    • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g. Python, Shell, Java, and JSON).
    • Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
      • Management - CloudWatch (Events/Logs), IAM, CloudTrail, EC2 Systems Manager, CloudFormation
    • Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (At least one per category desired):
      • Agile Project Management (eg. Jira, VersionOne, Rally)
      • Build automation (e.g. Maven, Gradle, Ant) 
      • Continuous Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo)
      • Testing tools (e.g. Junit, Selenium, jMeter)
      • Deployment automation (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
      • Source Code Configuration Management repository (GitHub, BitBucket)
      • Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
    • A team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment
    •  Taking ownership and acting with high sense of urgency, this job requires the individual to work like an entrepreneur


    • AWS Associate Level Certification desired (Professional preferred)
    • Experience designing, developing, deploying, testing in AWS architecture
    • Advanced knowledge of AWS Services including:
      • IaaS - EC2, VPC, EBS, ELB, KMS, Config, SNS, SQS, SES, SWF, S3, Glacier
      • Data Management - Redshift, RDS, EMR, Data Pipeline, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Lambda
    • Other - Server Migration, Storage Gateway
    • Experience with various DevSecOps tools including (At least one per category desired):
      • Entire Microsoft Team Foundation Server suite
      • Build automation (e.g. Maven, Gradle, Ant) 
      • Code quality tools (e.g. Sonar, Cast, Coverity)
      • Static scanning (Contrast, Veracode, Fortify)
      • Binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus)
      • ChatOps (HipChat, VictorOps, PagerDuty, Slack)
      • Application Performance Monitoring (eg New Relic, AppDynamics, DynaTrace)
      • Container/scheduler platforms such as docker, docker enterprise edition, mesosphere, kubernetes or AWS EKS
      • Cloud Platforms (AWS IaaS and platform services, Azure IaaS and PaaS services)
