We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Cloud Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
In this role you will utilize your expertise in the area of networking with emphasis in Cloud operations. The ideal candidate will provide client support for AWS and Azure cloud services. Experience with at least one Configuration Management tool such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Docker is desired as is proficiency in at least one scripting language. The ideal candidate will have a Solid understanding of networking concepts and principles and have the ability to write technical documentation. Must be available to work non-standard hours when required.
Applies engineering concepts in the analysis, design and operations of Cloud and Configuration Management solutions. Diagnoses and remediates problems; plans installations, migrations, patching and cutovers of infrastructure components and capabilities. May review existing infrastructure designs and capabilities with the goal of making refinements, reducing operating overhead, enhancing operations efficiency, automation of repetitive tasks and improving current infrastructure designs. Will function as SME for less experienced Cloud and Configuration Management engineers.
Demonstrates experience as follows:
• Have worked with AWS and/or Azure, at least one Configuration Management tool, and at least one scripting language.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving Cloud issues through a combination of GUI / CLI analysis and vendor support.
• Experience with migration of on-prem infrastructure, services, and applications to a cloud environment.
• Experience with Cloud performance tuning, optimization, reporting, and capacity planning.
• VMWare and/or iSCSI SAN management experience a plus.
• U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
• Must pass a DOJ Minimal Background Investigation, MBI, Level 5 background investigation. Valid EQIP JPAS transfers acceptable
• Experience: 5 years demonstrated experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Experience with the following products and technologies:
o Experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef & Python
o Configuration Management Tools
o Scripting Language
o VMWare, SAN, or Networking certifications are a plus
o Understand Monitoring software and protocols
o Must have “Can Do - Professional Attitude” and Team player
o Must have excellent communication skills
o Must have strong problem solving skills and decision making skills
o Detail oriented with excellent technical verbal and written communication skills
o Must have an understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
o Able to multi task and excel in a fast paced on-time deliverable environment
o AWS, and/or Azure certifications are highly desired
