  • Summary / Description

    We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented GIS Storage Admin to join our team in Kansas City, MO to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

    • Provide end-to-end administration and support storage infrastructure supporting GIS data production, processing and archiving in a geographically dispersed environment.
    • Install and configure software; complete backup and restore requests; perform storage allocations; add clients to backup policies; decommission systems; configure media and master servers/drives/robots; perform updates, upgrades, patches to hardware/software/ firmware; troubleshoot issues; monitor systems; and reporting.
    • Develop and maintain required system and change related documentation, including configuration documents, SAN administration request form, change and release management packages, and other storage related support documents.
    • Operation of all aspects of storage administration tools and products including installation, configuration, operation, upgrading, and provide maintenance of products.
    • Schedule, build, and troubleshoot automation jobs including compliance and remediation jobs, audit jobs, package installation, and provisioning jobs.
    • Create reports on the environment to assess capacity utilization, performance, and related topics.
    • Monitor and recommend improvements for performance of storage products.
    • Execute recurring operational activities including the following:

    o  Disk Storage administration and support – Daily

    o  SAN Switch administration and support – Daily

    o  Tape Storage administration and support – Daily

    o  Disaster recovery testing activities – As required, approximately 1-2 times per month

    o  Disaster recovery planning and documentation – Biannual review and update, produce as needed.

    • Support all data synchronization activities for the environments maintained and operated within the supported HSM infrastructure.
    • Operate and administer enterprise class storage, mid-tier storage, and direct attached storage.
    • Operate and administer virtual systems including Solaris Zones and VMware.
    • Technologies:

    o  Oracle Sparc T7-2 Servers

    o  StorageTek QFS Client Software

    o  Oracle FS1-2 Disk/Storage System

    o  StorageTek SL8500 System and Tape Analytics software

    o  Oracle X6-2 Servers

    o  Oracle HSM Software

    o  ACSLS Software and Services

    o  Brocade Fiber Network


    Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Daily operational support of Brocade SAN switches including operation, provisioning, and support as well as troubleshoot SAN channel extension technologies used for remote data replication.
    • Daily operational support of SAN tape technologies including Oracle/SUN/STK automated tape technologies (e.g. 9310, L700, SL8500, etc.), STK Automated Cartridge System Library Software (ACSLS), 9840 and LTO tape drive technology.
    • Daily operational support of Open Systems Backup Technologies including Veritas NetBackup and Commvault installation, administration, maintenance, and support in an enterprise environment including Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, and IBM AIX clients and media servers.

    Daily operational support of backup and archive technologies including Oracle/SUN Storage Archive Manager File System (SAMFS) archive solution, installation, administration, maintenance, and support of SAMFS in an enterprise environment.


    Position Requirements:

    Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related work experience.
